Unfortunately the tax credits for 30% of replacement window costs are a thing of past. Last year you could have claimed up to $1,500 of your window replacement costs.

The good news is you can still save money on your taxes this year. The government has extended an modified form of the tax credits. For window replacements, you can claim up to $200 (total) for replacing your windows. The new tax credits allow you to claim up to 10% of the cost of the windows (this does NOT include the cost of installation).

Exclusions: Rentals properties and new construction. In order to qualify the home must be your primary residence.

If you’d like to check out the official webpage from the government you can go to: http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=tax_credits.tx_index or you can call Rusty at (970) 219-6940 and he’ll give you a personalized summary for your home!
